When I started this blog, I started it showing an example of what graphic design was, now i want to show three more approaches that answer the same question, in a very different style. I really like that i all of them, type is one of the most important elements in the designs.

Using the hole of the plastic bag as a part of the concept make this design very creative and innovative as well as successful. It takes everybody´s attention because of the unusual way of using the plastic bag as well as the little funny touch.

Looking for inspiration in internet i found this poster for an opening party of a new publishing house. It is very simple, fresh and contemporary approach because of the color and the way every element is cut out and not centered in the poster and using type to delimitate the space of the scissor

Here we see a contemporary wordmark. It is very clean and simple that stands out easily. Also, the color change of the dot over the "i" onto a warm color make the design have contrast and make it more casual, but professional, as well as that rounded, but sharped corners typeface

It is great how different types work together as well as expressing even more when it express the meaning of the word is written with. I like how casual and eye catching this book design is.

This psychedelic poster has a great color choice. The use of the complementaries plus that green and the white besides the use of the pattern make the design vibrate and be very active. The hand-lettering typography, although very interesting and dynamic it is not readable, and overall is well balanced, make the design being not communicate as well as it could.

What i like of this Evian packaging is that shows very well the concept in the product itself. It is very creative and clever making the water bottle as if it was a mountain expressing how natural and fresh that water is.

Here I post an example of a modernist layout of a book where sans serif typeface, asymmetric layout and the used of a grid come together to form a beautiful design where there is a lot of white space. I enjoy so much seeing how type is structured and well organized. This help the reader/consumer to know well where to start reading and therefore communication is easier.

This is a poster from the American Statistical Association that I took from http://www.mathaware.org/mam/08/theme.poster.html
What make this poster successful is how minimalist and direct it is. It shows the point directly and at the same time is creative in the way the head and the interrogation mark are connected. Also, there is a perfect harmony between graphics, typography, and color. Moreover the diagonal make by the direction of the head and the type gives the design a dynamic feeling and connect us to the important imformation.

This is a logo design by Jessica Hische's website. http://jessicahische.com/typographizes/an-illustrative-initial-every-day I like how the design looks antique, but at the same time contemporary as she wanted to. I really like how that yellow works with the black and just making the flowed lines in that color make the design more friendly.

What i enjoy of it is how clean and simple it is and although the layout is pretty much symmetrical the interrogation mark and the word conference breaks the monotony and bring other feeling to the poster. Also the word design is totally cropped but it is still readable what make the design more dynamic.

According with the topic we are studying, Victorian era, I wanted to find an advertisement from Coca-Cola. It is very interesting how much the brand has evolve since it beginnings. But paying attention into the design part, this is a typical victorian design. We can see how the complex and ornamental the clothing and the design itself is. We can appreciate the image of a well dress woman is set inside an oval in a symmetrical layout. Also we see very decorative borders and an elaborate typography in a very colorful piece

This is an example I found in Internet of a 16th century font book, the Macclesfield Alphabet Book from the British Library, which contains 14 different types of alphabets with different styles. It is very interesting how even centurys ago typographers had their own portfolio made by hand or first engraving their artwork and then transfer it to books by woodcut in order to spread their skills and have more clients.

As this typographic solution says. Design is more than Graphic Design. Although it doesn't directly respond to the question I chose this image because of its simplicity and how clean it is. All the text is unified in a block and has some hierarchy on it and make the important words to come out.
